September News

Welcome back, returning ADA families and a warm welcome to all new families! We are so excited for our 13th season and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve you and your children! The blur of the first weeks of class are over and the students and teachers are settling nicely into their classes and curricula. Over the past two weeks I’ve had the opportunity to teach classes (come join adult Tap and Jazz on Wednesday’s in Brandon! It’s so fun!) and also observe classes. It’s really amazing to see how fast the kids adapt and learn new things. I love watching them learn! The arts have so many benefits for kids of all ages. Studies show that children who participate in the arts have better academic outcomes, higher career goals and more civic engagement. Now that’s More Than Just Great Dancing®! Parents, we thank you for being part of our studio family and we are looking forward to a great year! If you ever have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress throughout the year, please feel free to call or email the studio office@allisonsdanceacademy.com – Miss Allison

Students are encouraged to try a new style of dance for free – simply contact the office so we can plan for them to attend.

Students are welcome to bring friends to class the weeks of September 16-27. Forms will be sent home the week before – please be sure that this is form is filled out so everyone is able to fully participate.

Do you need shoes or a studio leotard (Intermediate Ballet, Upper Intermediate Ballet, and Advanced Ballet/Pointe)? It is easy to order apparel:
1. Order from the online store in Studio Director
2. Email the studio with the items and sizes you need.
3. Fill out an order form the first week of classes.
*Sizing kits will be in Rock Rapids Sept. 3-4 and in Rock Valley Sept. 9.
View our updated dress code.

Always check your email before coming to class. We will send out an email for weather closings or any other unexpected/last minute announcements.

Little Ones:

*Parents are welcome to stay to observe their child from the lobby or leave and run errands during class time. In our Brandon and Rock Rapids locations we do have observation windows that will be open at the teachers discretion. If you do stay to observe your child, we ask that you just peek into the window periodically so as not to distract your dancer/gymnast.
*Please be aware that we do not allow parents in the classroom. Separation anxiety is a regular part of adjusting to a new activity and our instructors are very used to this and have tools to help your child succeed. Please watch for Parent Observation days!
*Also, please remember to take your child to the bathroom BEFORE class time. There tends to be a chain reaction when one little one goes potty, the rest “need to go” too! We want to use our valuable class time for dancing.
